It's amazing when I think about the times when fax broadcasting was fun and profitable. Fax broadcasting is cheaper than stamps and in many cases does better than direct mail campaigns. The problem is, in the U.S. the money hungry lawyers have figure out a way to manufacture law suits against fax broadcasting companies and fax advertising clientele. TOO MUCH JUNK FAXES / JUNK MAIL?
With the onset of technology, it is much easier to send out thousands of faxes per hour. This makes it easier for fax broadcasting companies to make a living out of providing that service. One of the things that fax broadcasting companies adhere to is the 'do not call list', or the 'remove list'. If you don't want to receive faxes, contact the sender and have them remove your number from their list. It's that simple.

The other alternative is to not use the fax machine technology!! If you don't want to receive faxes, unplug your fax machine. go back to the teletype machine! You let every other modern mechanized advertising company advertise to you. You receive junk mail, fliers, television, radio etc. You are ok with these mediums. The thing I find very amusing about fax broadcasting is that it works!! People respond like crazy to faxes they receive. They get a good deal from the fax machine and they call or go online. They save money from the offers they receive over their fax machine. I know this.. other wise people would be responding to this type of advertising.

SPAM EMAIL DOESN'T WORK AS WELL AS FAX BROADCASTING
People send out millions of spam emails at a time. These are not nearly as effective as a well laid out, nicely worded fax advertisement. BTW... you never get sued for sending out spam email... It's just easier to hit the delete button.

The quality of spam email is usually unrespectably horrible. However, it is another way to send out mechanized advertising, based on our current technology's capability.!!

Recently I needed to sell a schwack of office furniture to clear out my office... I put an ad in the local newspaper, and the newspaper classified ad cost me $100.00. I send out a full city fax to my local area, which cost me $0.00. Which do you think did better? The classified ad or the fax ad?! I got about 10 calls from the newspaper ad and about 100 calls from the fax broadcasting ad that I sent out!!
